Depending on the degree of curvature it may be aesthetically displeasing and painfully disrupt or even preclude sexual intercourse

Innate incurvate penis (Penis deviation)

Incurvate penis and bent penis as a syndrome

Even though it is not apparent at first sight: hardly any penis is straight. Just as noses and faces, even the female breast, are hardly ever symmetrical. Yet, with no other body part, is a deviation so critical and results in not only aesthetic issues but affects the functionality. About 5% of men suffer from a significantly incurvate penis, which has a major impact on their sex life. It is extremely important to feel entirely comfortable in your body.

Cause

An innate incurvate penis develops in utero. Mostly due to hormonal influences, the tissue develops asymmetrically and the three cavernous bodies grow to different sizes. Sometimes a foreshortened urethra, a so called hypoplasia of the urethra, is present as well. The innate incurvate penis does not change in grown men.

Treatment

Surgery is usually only taken into consideration, if the patient suffers from pain or major restrictions during intercourse. A correction for aesthetic reasons is normally not recommended, since, in some cases, the risk, that the delicate structures of the penis could be harmed and its specific functions could be restricted, is too high,

Additionally, during cosmetic surgery, only the longer cavernous body can be fitted to the shorter one, resulting in a shortening of the penis of several centimetres. Often, the penis is less aesthetically pleasing after surgery.
PHALLOSAN forte is therefore a true alternative to operative treatment. Due to the continous pull, the penis can be straightened or at least improved, without losing length, since the pull on the glans stretches the penis. The direction of the deviation is irrelevant.

Acquired incurvate penis

Induratio Penis Plastica

The acquired incurvate penis, also called Induratio penis plastica (IPP) can develop slowly or appear very quickly. During the beginning of this very stressful disease, pain during an erection is often one of the first signs. Most often, an upward curvature is seen, yet also a sandglass shaped constriction can be observed. IPP affects 3 to 7 percent of men, diabetics are affected more frequently. The acquired incurvate penis can be so severe, that it makes intercourse very painful or even impossible. The illness affects the whole man, as it severely diminishes his quality of life, personally, sexually and in the partnership.

Cause

The cause for the adult onset incurvate penis is unknown. The prevalent theory is, that a malfunction in the collagen synthesis plays a major role. With Induratio Penis Plastica cluster-like induration (plaques) form on the skin of the cavernous body, which are caused by a overproduction of connective tissue in the penis. This results in the sometimes painful incurvate penis.

Treatment

Since causative treatment is not possible, a lessening of the symptoms through medication and treatment and a prevention of the disease and stopping the progress is the goal- (medication, injection of the active ingredient into the penis, shock wave therapy, Iontophoreses). For severe cases, surgery is the last resort to enable the patient to have a satisfying sex life again. No treatment method has ever been able to heal a patient in the sense that the curvature was completely cured).
With PHALLOSAN forte's mechanical treatment however, 640 patients have been successfully treated. PHALLOSAN forte is recommended as an alternative therapy or as a maintenance therapy for IPP  - especially when taking into consideration, that other therapies are not affected by it.
